"You are?" It's taken a little while for it to really click that she might be talking to an authority figure. In Hotaru's defense, getting flung across dimensions after some sort of conflict (which keeps nibbling at the edges of her brain but stays frustratingly out of reach) is enough to scramble most people's heads.

"You... wouldn't be with the police, would you?" She sounds so tentatively hopeful with that question, too.
