A pet really would be an experiment. In all his years he hasn't had so much as a goldfish. A cat would be a great start. A little more hands off than a dog. Or chao for that matter.

He does only in that way a person can see that another person obviously attracts attention from others. If that means still being close by he would be so very content. They've just met. And so far her company has been a terrific buffer for the kind of culture shock he's going through. That aside, Matt plainly would like to get to know her better.
