Verity in the forum? Not a strange sight. Verity without coffee? Rather less common. Verity slumping, exhausted, into a couch? Unusual. Verity covered in scrapes, bruises, and dust? Definitely strange.

"Help isn't if it's forced on someone. This is true. Someone not in possession of all of the facts cannot give fully informed consent. This is also true. But nobody can be forced to listen." Of course Verity has things on her mind. Who here doesn't? "How do you reconcile that? Is ignorance truly bliss? Or do you do what's needed to save someone despite their choices?"

((A note before you come to play with Verity: she's got a magic spell stuck in her that lets her always know when someone is lying to her. This includes sarcasm and knowing when someone believes something to be true when it isn't. This doesn't include lies of omission. She can also see through illusions. Please respect this; if your character is trying to lie to her, please make that known so she can react appropriately. [I completely understand this isn't going to be everyone's idea of fun.] Thanks.))

"I assure you, I am a professional. I only...open doors for my patients to explore their past, their concerns and their fears." He gives her a disarming(?) smile. The worst part is there's no actual lie present.

"Let us get back to the matter at hand," he says, resuming his tea-stirring, then taking a testing sip before continuing. "Why put so much effort into convincing the unconvinced?"

Yeah, like she's never met a smooth talker before. "A professional what?"

"Analyst. Licensed psychiatrist. You seem very untrusting, Ms. Willis. Perhaps this is why the one you're looking to convince is equally so?" He chuckles warmly.

"It's extremely unprofessional of you to try and analyze me without my consent. I should talk to your licensing board about that." This is not her first rodeo with a therapist she didn't like.

"Oh, my apologies. I thought we were simply having a conversation. I don't recall setting an appointment with you, after all." Conveniently enough.

"This forum is for the answering of questions, after all. Am I to refrain due to my profession?"

He can set all the appointments he likes, she's not playing his game. And her insurance company isn't going to exist soon so he won't even get to bill anybody.

"We both know what you were trying to do, and I have better things to do than argue with you." She's going to go now, because he is creeping her out and she has no way to blow his shit up.

He very much remembers that blast as well! Even if he came out of it fine, it was still such a shame his desk had to go through that. As Verity's stating this conversation has come to an end, he's taking another sip of tea. His eyebrows go up when she declares as much, watching as the redhead gets up to go.

As she's walking away, however, one of the people she passes is again the man with the teacup. He doesn't stop her or get in her way. Just offers her a kind, "Until our next meeting, then, Ms. Willis."
