There's a new face in the Nexus! -And there she goes, immediately sticking her head into the portal she just came out of. When Asta comes back, she looks remarkably unfrazzled about the whole thing. "Huh. Cool. This'd make a cool feature to write about." The young woman quirks a crooked little smile before flipping open a notebook. (Said notebook is full of indecipherable scribbles. Bad handwriting is a double-edged sword.)

"So, lemme get this straight," she drawls. "You guys just replaced my front closet with a- whatever this is." A beat. "...Oh man, this is so cool! So if I bring my netbook here, will I still get a signal from my router? I mean, my connection's not great, but still..."

Smile real big, Nexus. You're the next big thing on Network Zero.

Oh, you precious summer child. Asta can't answer at the moment; she's come down with a bad case of the giggles. So bad, in fact, that there are tears in her eyes when she finally stops. "Woo, oh man, I needed that," she chokes out. "It's not me-me, man, it's all one word. 'Meme'. Man, that's what my dad calls 'em!"

She retreats back through the portal, returning after a moment with a banged-up netbook tucked under one arm. (Hey, you try keeping electronics intact when you're being chased by a monster. It ain't easy.) She cracks her knuckles and powers the tiny thing on. "If this works, then you're welcome to all the cat macros you can stand."

"Meme? That don't make sense. It's two mes together. C'mon, don't mess with me." Truly, Jesse is a man sheltered from nerd and internet culture.

When the lady retreats and returns, Jesse cranes his neck to wait and hear the verdict. "It'll be neat to see if this works cuz what else will it work with? Will stuff like magic or electricity be seepin' through other portals? Could explain why this place is so wild."
