You're all invited!

In glossy text on the front reads SUPER SMASH BROS.: UPCOMING FALL TOURNAMENT!, framed by a circle with two lines slicing through it and a fire burning in the background. Fancy!
On the next page it details the history of the 'Smash'; namely that for quite a few years heroes from other dimensions gathered to participate in endless battle, for sport and glory. Each season there would be a tournament, unless there was a bigger event going on, and this booklet is advertising the latest autumn brawl. Hurry and get tickets while you still can for this extraordinary event!
The next few pages feature the fighters, profiling their world of origin, their statistics and their 'final smash' - a move that unlocks their ultimate potential. Some would seem familiar while others might be completely unheard of by the people of the Nexus. One would certainly be known, given he was running around to hand out these things.
The final pages reveal that the stages are often crafted from the worlds the fighters came from originally, the tournament set-up (who would face who to continue) and information on ticket prices (depending on which bracket you intend to see) and the cost of food, lodging etc. All forms of currency accepted. Super Smash Bros. Entertainment does not accept liability for damages to property or self incurred during combat viewing. All tickets and lodging arrangements subject to availability.

Until he gets to the roster.
"WHAT!?"
The mage suddenly vanishes in a puff of smoke, only to reappear in the same near the Pikachu, pointing urgently at the fighter that caught his attention. A certain blue hedgehog.
"EXPLAIN THIS!" He demands of the creature that can only speak in the syllables of his own name.
hehehehe
"Pika! Pika pikachu, pi pi." He pointed at the little paragraph detailing Sonic. It should have the info this guy needed.
"Sonic the Hedgehog, the fastest thing alive, joined the tournament during the 3rd Grand Summoning Brawl. An easygoing hero who stands up to any injustice, he's nearly impossible to catch and attacks hard and fast. Keep your eyes wide open when this Fighter is in the fray or you may miss the KO!"
couldn't resist
Poor Ixis, not even a trophy.
'TO WHOM IT CONCERNS
FIGHTERS ARE SELECTED ON AN INVITE-ONLY BASIS AND MUST GO THROUGH SEVERAL ROUNDS OF PERFORMANCE MATCHES AND TRAINING TESTS BEFORE BEING GRANTED ENTRY TO THE SMASH TOURNAMENT. NO YOU MAY NOT JOIN. HARASS THE MESSENGER AT YOUR OWN PERIL.'

"Harassing? I'm just demanding answers!" Totally different! "I don't want to join, I just want to understand-...Ugh. Fine. What does one have to do to get in touch with the contestants?"
Maybe he can get answers from this version of the Quickster. As he now recalls that this could very well be some kind of alternate of him. If it was his version, he'd seriously wonder how the hedgehog could be participating in a tournament rather than stressing about how their world is erased.

Taking back the letter he grumbled some more, turning over the booklet and pointing to the very last page; an address for enquiries and mailing the participants, with a note that all post is scanned and checked before it is delivered.
Tucking the letter back into his bag, Pikachu turned to continue his business.

"Thank you for your time," he grumbles, watching the Pikachu leave. The booklet is tucked into the mage's belt. He'll think about what to do with this development.

The officer would make more of a fuss about littering but really, when the perpetrator is this cute and also made of lightning one tends to stop and let a few things slide by.
Not to mention the fact that the little booklet contains some fairly interesting information. Katsuya looks it over curiously.
"You're going to be entering then?" That seemed rather interesting, all things considered. Sadly none of the other contenders is at all familiar to the man.

This little guy is a long time competitor! Katsuya would not have guessed this. The officer reads the profile closely before kneeling down so her was closer to level with Pikachu.
"You enjoy these a lot, don't you?"
no subject
He took the booklet again and turned it to the back, where the ticket prices were. He handed it back somewhat coyly. "Piiiii~"
no subject
"Alright. I'll get two tickets to watch you compete. How's that?"
no subject
She'll crouch down to give her buddy a hug if he wants one before she looks through the pamphlet. "Oh, this is where you fight? I dunno, you think these other people will be any kind of challenge for you?"
Wait. Samus? Samus is in this thing?
There will be so many questions next time she sees the Amazon bird lady.

Instead he points at the back of the book eagerly. "Pika pika!" Ticket information! Front row seats still available for lower bracket matches!
no subject
"Oh, you want your friends to come watch you fight, is that it?" It's really not her usual idea of a good time, but he seems so excited... maybe Kid Loki would like to go with her. "Well. I'll think about it, okay?"
no subject
But at the mention of Verity and Loki coming to see him battle, his eyes practically shone and he papped his cheeks in glee. "Pika?!" He ran around her twice, cheering at the idea. Friends coming to see him battle! He'd have to be at his very best, like no-one's ever been!

Skidding to a stop, Pikachu cheered and jumped on the spot. Then he quickly glanced around sneakily and rummaged through his bag. Every tournament the fighters were given a season ticket, to give to a friend. It was more a token than anything as several had no-one to give their ticket to; either their place of origin was very lonely or, like Pikachu, they had no-one they cared for outside the tournament.
But if Verity wanted to come- aha! With a happy 'chu' he found it and held it up to her.

She takes the ticket and looks it over before giving him another smile. "Thank you! I will come and cheer you on as often as I can. And I know you'll do really well."
Hopefully, his Master Hand will understand that the price of a new market is going to be people like Verity.
