It's a Bird, It's a Plane
Aw, shucks. It's that large, funny-talking horse dude with the winged helmet. What's he doing with that big wooden sign? Hammering it into the ground in the Forum? And, what does it say? "FREE PIGGYBACK RIDES." He can't be serious. Who would trust this huge, jolly weirdo (even if he does clean out demons like it's his day job)? The long-snouted thief of Thor's wardrobe must be nearly seven feet tall, and he's wide enough to weigh a quarter ton!
Oh, great. He's hovering. He must really be insane to expect anyone to go FLYING with him. The 'man' looks like some kind of monster. And, is he looking this way? Too late to hide...
"Wouldst thou care to take to the sky with Beta Ray Bill?" The joy of flight is apparently worth sharing. Boy, someone must be in a good mood...
((Note: any characters taking Bill up on this offer are in danger of seriously getting their hair mussed. Horse jokes may result in one unassisted flight lesson...just one))

"Yea, Groot. I spy it. One of thy brethren?"
Maybe he should let the two mingle! Or maybe the other tree would try to literally mingle with him. One never knows in the Nexus.

"I... am Groot," Ray's dendritic passenger answers uncertainly.

Trees communicate by very subtle cues. Perhaps that other tree was giving off some kind of a vibe. But where the encounter with the possible ent prompted uncertainty, the renewed flight brings unalloyed joy.

After some time dodging through the trees (sentient or otherwise) at high speed, Bill eventually loops his way back to the spot where they'd met. After all, even his new buddy Groot has to tire of excitement eventually, he speculates.

Even if Groot didn't tire of it, it would be fair for Bill to say, "ride's over, someone else gets a turn now." He's the one giving them, after all.

"I hope thou wert entertained, mine compeer." At least Bill had fun and made a new friend.

"I am Groot!" the tree-man confirms with a bright smile, clapping Bill firmly on the shoulder.
