Snowstorms and matchmaking: An early Valentine's post

Winter in the Nexus has been especially present this year. The weather has presented plenty of hardships for the past few months, something which numerous people have bemoaned. It doesn't look set to change, either. If anything, Winter seems to be going stronger than ever. There are no signs of it winding down at all.

Everything seems normal at first, the usual hustle and bustle has the Nexus thrumming now that people have adapted to the cold conditions. Then, rather suddenly, everything kicks into gear. The wind starts to howl, battering people to and fro. Not long after that, the sky becomes thick with snow, making it nearly impossible to see, the biting cold driving people back inside. It soon becomes completely inhospitable to all wandering around outside.

In the hurry to get out of the storm, people end up scurrying to the nearest available shelter. Apartment lobbies, houses, cafés, shops, restaurants, the library... Anywhere and everywhere that offers some shelter. Peculiarly, people seem to end up in pairs as they hide away from the cold. Looks like everyone is going to have to huddle close together. For... warmth... We'll say it's for warmth.

((This is entirely an excuse to shove characters together and force them to spend time with each other. Feel free to have as many threads as you like, trying as many combinations as you like, where ever you like. Brave souls can try and berate Reynard if they really want to.))

"Terra. Earth. Whatever it is folks are calling it. The future though."

The fire is nice and Vanyel is automatically okay for making it so they're not going to freeze huddled over for warmth.

"It's a nice place you guys have. I finally got to see it." Mountains, dynamic landscapes and gorgeous views in every direction if you're out in the wilderness that is. "Felix wasn't kidding when he'd brag about the scenery."

"I see." He's heard both terms, and hearing 'the future' doesn't surprise him at all, given Jim's comments from movie night about the technology in general and the starships in particular.

“Oh? Which bit did you get to see?” Somewhere in Skyrim, he’s fairly sure, given that it was almost certainly Felix who brought him there. But Skyrim is a very large province, so knowing that doesn’t actually rule out much.

As for the fire… well, he’s got all those perks put toward flame spells, may as well put them to use.

"Uh? We were on a mountain." Pause. "Not that that helps there's mountains everywhere. Nearish an Imperial outpost." He leaves out the part about going sledding as that is not a very masculine activity to talk about.

"Also got to see the inside of my eyelids and a really awful smelling cave when I came too. What can I say? My looks, man. That was a good fight though." So Bandits happened. unsurprising to anyone who lives in Skyrim, but plenty surprising to Jim.

"I prefer the mountain though. All that exploring ruins stuff...cool, still cool. but man there is not a lot of friendly folks living in those things."

'On a mountain near an Imperial outpost' still doesn't say much about where in Skyrim they were, actually - but since the rest of the story makes clear they had more on their minds than a walking tour, he doesn't press.

"No, there really aren't." And 'living' is debatable term for things like the draugr and the vampires. "Still, at least it wasn't a boring visit?"

'Boring' isn't a term that usually applies to anything in Skyrim - or so he's found.
