Scavenger Hunt Spin the Bottle-Wheel Valentines Day CHALLENGEEEEE!

You all didn't think you were getting out of this holiday entirely empty handed, now did you?

There's red, white, and pink heart confetti falling like rain as Nekomata pushes out a ridiculously large gameshow type wheel with a bottle shaped ticker attached at its center. She raises the aviator glasses she's wearing and pulls a few cue cards out of her...actually she doesn't have pockets and it's best not to ask where these came from.

"Lyadies and Gentleman, humies, magi and all creatures alike! It's time for us to play a game mya!" She does her best Vanna White impression as she gestures to the wheel. "You may all have nyoticed the names of Nexus denizens. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to give this wheel a spin and track down whomever it lands on and get a selfie of you two smooching! All selfies delivered to me will be entered into a grand finale drawing. The winner will receive a very special prize everyone in the Nexus is guaranteed to want mya!"

She points into the crowd of the forum. She wants you to participate! Yes, you!

"What are you waiting for mya?!"

[Fun Valentines day shenanigans since I didn't see anything else go up today. Entirely fluffy and for laughs. Feel free to choose your target or have me select at random. I may or may not choose targets based on hilarity. Happy V-Day everyone and accept this loving post from me to all of you~

There's no saying that only one person can be smooched by another, so feel free to double up if you want! Just respect another person's wishes if they say their character doesn't want to be found and lip-molested k?

"I'll play your game." Finally, a human who isn't about to waste time asking what the hell is going on. Amelia walks up to the wheel, armed and armored to the teeth, and gives it a hard spin. It really is a lucky thing she finally has a phone for this.

...this is going to end so badly for her, isn't it?

"You are my nyew favorite human. Do you have a name? Or should I make one up. Stabby? Blade? Fangs McKinzee?"

Really this is just distraction as the wheel keeps on spinning. It starts to slow and then ticks to a stop on one of the newbies.

"Joshua Washington! Come on down! He wears flannel and a stocking cap. Good luck Best Humie Who Doesn't ask so Many Questions!"

She rolls her eyes at the cat-demon. "Amelia Ronsam." Nick names are not appreciated, it seems.

"...so I win if I find this guy and get a selfie kissing him before anyone else, right?" Just one question to make sure she knows exactly what she's getting into. Not that the idea of kissing anyone works well for her.

"Yep, you can enter as many times as you want, but no one has a shot at winning unless they bring me a selfie. And the prize? Well, I went all out on this. There's no way everyone in the Nexus won't want this awesome win on their belt."

Her tails twitch happily.

"Happy hunting!"

Steve has a lot of that confetti in his hair as he looks around.

"Amelia, what is going on?"

Hey at least he's not asking the cat girl any questions.

Amelia has to stifle a laugh as she turns to him and brushes the confetti from his hair. "A game involving spinning a bottle and kissing, apparently."

So clueless about Earth traditions. Good thing Steve should be able to explain this one?

"Oh good, you found another volunteer!"

Nekomata wastes zero time in dragging Steve up and getting him to give the wheel a spin. The Nexus' resident defense attorney comes up.

Steve still looks shocked when Nekomata claps him on the shoulder.

"It's the blind lawyer nya!! Good luck kid!"

Amelia is getting pointedly ignored, but Ver can't ignore when Matt's name comes up on the wheel. It's a relief that Steve's the lucky fella.

"I think I'm going to need this picture too, Steve."

"...Wh...what just happened?"

Steve isn't sure whether to laugh or get angry about this. He didn't agree to anything!What are the rules?

"You are way more happy about this than I am comfortable with, Verity." Poor Steve is so lost.

"You, my dear, get to kiss my boyfriend. Consider yourself a very lucky man, I wouldn't let just anyone get away with that."

"I hope this won't be an issue for either of you."

She's not snickering. Nope. Not one bit. No way.

...okay maybe just a little because of that shocked look on Steve's face when this all started.

"Man, he's gonna laugh so hard at me." Steve sighs and tries to shake some of the confetti out of his hair.

"Guess I better text him..."

"I wish you much luck in your hunting." She ruffles Steve's hair a bit - to get out the lat of the confetti, of course - before leaving him to his hunting. She's got her own target, after all.

[Sorry Amelia, it probably is going to start off in an awkward way, as Mewtwo keeps a few steps away from the rogue. Through some process of elimination, or overhearing someone else address her, he's come to the conclusion that this is the woman he's supposed to kiss. Pokemon don't smooch people, however, and he's mainly trying to figure out if there's a way to trick Nekomata. Hmm.]

[The pokemon just fidgets a bit where he stands, almost hesitant to move forward.]

Being watched is one of those things that Amelia is always acutely aware of. She tries really hard to ignore the feeling, given the public venue, but when the feeling persists, she turns to find the source. The pokemon gets a raised eyebrow when she figures out who's watching her.

"Can I help you with something?" Don't worry, she's used to strange beings in the Nexus by now, though Mewtwo is definitely a new variety of strange for her.

[Amelia's sharp eyes disarm the pokemon for a second, and it causes him to look away for a brief moment. When she speaks, he slowly approaches, hoping she won't be disturbed by his telepathic communications.]

"...My apologies. The cat seems to have given me your name for this so-called contest. I do not know what to do next, other than introduce myself. I am Mewtwo, a pokemon. You are Amelia, correct?"

Her hands fly to her temples and her eyes are wide as she regards the pokemon.

What in the ever loving hell is going on?

"I don't... How are you...?"

One thing at a time. She slowly lowers her hands from her face. "I'm Amelia, yes." Progress.

[Mewtwo, as if on cue, brings one paw to his head lightly. He keeps forgetting how jarring it might be to humans to hear him speak with psychic powers.]

"I should apologize. My means of communications with humans is through telepathy. I can assure you that I'm not able to read your mind or do other things like that." [Hopefully that settles one problem of many right now.]

"Ah...I am fine, I suppose. I do not understand the nature of this holiday, however, my interest peaked when the cat said she had a special prize for the winner."

That does answer one question, but this whole experience is still jarring. It takes a lot of effort not to wince out of instinct.

Oh, that's... not what she meant. Just roll with it, Amelia. "It's supposed to be a holiday celebrating love, from what I'm told." She somehow manages not to roll her eyes about that, though the desire is there.

"...I'm guessing you got me?" Perceptive one, isn't she?

[beyond_my_limits]

"Love...?" [Something about that word causes the pokemon to pause and think, as if trying to reflect upon his own experiences.] "Humans are very strange for having such a holiday."

[He nods his head calmly.] "Yes. I will not be offended if you do not wish to participate in this festival. To be honest, I am still getting used to human customs and interactions."

"To be honest, I don't understand it either." She was rather hoping for a different kind of event for Valentine's Day so she could better identify the lovers and send them off somewhere else to keep Winter around longer, but she hasn't had much luck with anything else lately, so it's not surprisingly she isn't getting what she wants from the day.

"So long as it's just a kiss on the cheek, it's fine." Because that is as close as anyone is about to get to her comfort zone, be they human or otherwise, thank you very much.

"It seems we're in the same situation then." [Even though he's been given permission, the pokemon is hesitant and fearful. If he does this wrong, will the human be upset? He slowly glides forward and offers to take her hand instead.]

"I do not wish to invade your personal space that much. Perhaps a light kiss on your hand will be sufficient?"

That sigh of relief she lets go of is obvious. "It is a kind of kiss," she agrees. She pulls out her phone and grabs another one of the participants, asking them to take a picture with her phone for them. It'll be easier to get proof of the kiss when someone can take a picture of the two of them from afar. Sorry, Nekomata, but this isn't a selfie situation.

Once the picture is secured, she offers her hand to Mewtwo. It may be an easier thing than other forms of kissing, but it still causes her to blush softly.
