The May Queen is back in the forum. It's safe to assume she left at some point; Frea's wearing a new (but still floral) dress and today's flower crown is made of evening primroses and bleeding hearts. She's also got a bright smile and a plate of cookies, both of which are offered to any interested passers-by from her perch atop a low stone wall. If she ever had shoes, she either hasn't found them or isn't on speaking terms with them; her bare feet swing and tap a rhythm against the stones while she waits for someone to talk to.

"Anyone want a cookie?"

((Beware! The cookies are LOLed. Different cookies will give your character a day or two of various motherly instincts and/or symptoms.
--Peanut butter cup-stuffed chocolate cookies mean your character experiences a phantom pregnancy. Give them any or all of the worst and most cliched symptoms. Bloating, aches and pains, hormonal shifts, morning sickness, cravings, whatever you want to inflict on your poor characters who probably totally deserve it.
--Chocolate chip cookies will turn your character into a Mother hen. Which may be useful, given what's going on around them; it may at the same time be incredibly annoying.
--Sugar cookies with the super sparkly sugar tops make your character a Fairy Godmother. Whether or not they can do minor magic to help fulfill the wishes of the worthy is up to you, but either way, they're going to feel compelled to help make happy endings come true.
--Oatmeal raisin cookies will help your characters remember their connections to the earth and make them total Earth Mothers. Be one with nature! Talk to the animals! Just remember, mostly they talk about food and sex; it's not as fun as Disney makes it seem.))

"Wow, you're really talented. I bet it took a long time."

Frea's absolutely not holding in a giggle now that Dru's taken a cookie. That would be absurd. "I hope you enjoy it."

The not-so-held-back giggle might go unnoticed by most people, but Dru gets a sensation that something is amiss from her low level telepathic abilities.

So she pauses, before consuming the cookie.

"Are you certain nothing will go wrong?"

Dru may not want to spend too long trying to look inside the head of a god.

"Oh, I'm quite sure everything will work out just fine." Big grin. Who could ever distrust such a sweet looking summer child?

Dru is very aware of Nexus LOL's, but all things considered, her abilities do not warn her of anything too dangerous. So there she goes, consuming the cookie.

Her Victorian dress is going to slowly start to take more Earthy colors.

The change makes Frea grin. "Those colors suit you, sweetie."

Dru also feels a little different. She finds a place to sit down, so she can remove her shoes (which takes time, since they are Victorian-style too and have lots of laces).

"It is a beautiful day today."

"It really is," she agrees. "You want some help with those?"

Frea is the perfect sort of enabler: she'll help with shoelaces and other strings attached, she'll go on adventures, and she won't hold it against anyone when they come back to their senses.

"That would be lovely. I love the fashion, until it gets time to untie." And yes, for those who are wondering, Dru does wear a corset underneath everything.

"I understand why Victorian ladies who dressed in the fashion usually had servants to get them into everything." Dru does it herself (with a little help from her abilities).

Frea's not peeking at her undergarments, but she'll put the cookies down and kneel to help Dru get out of the slightly overlaced shoes.

"I can't imagine how they'd do it without help," she admits.

"The era itself is very fascinating."

A few of the Nexus animals are now showing up, watching the scene with interest.

"Beyond the fashion?" Frea gives her a curious look to prompt more of an explanation.

"Oh yes. It was a time of peace, prosperity and refined sensibilities. Many great books and poems were written during that time."

A squirrel hops a little closer, followed by two other curious squirrels.

"'Refined sensibilities' that made people not want to breathe?"

Books and poems are fine things, but corsets. What the heck.

"Women might have been constrained at the start of the era, but by the end there was a lot of feminism movements that changed things."

"We untied ourselves." The squirrel comes up and jumps into Dru's lap. To curl up and sleep.

"That's a nice way of putting it." Once the shoes are off, Frea sets them next to Dru and stands up again. "Feel better now?"

"Yes I do. Thank you."

"I seem to have a new friend." She looks down at the squirrel in her lap with a smile.

"So you do. Lucky you."

"I'm Drusilla, but most people call me Dru." An introduction seems like a good idea. And Dru will remove her gloves too, before extending a hand.

"I'm Frea. Nice to meetcha." Decidedly less formality here, if that wasn't already obvious. But she's happy to shake hands.

"It is indeed a pleasure."
