The season is a'changing, the weather is warmer. The forecast calls for high temperature, low humidity and a light breeze. A near perfect day. What better reason to gather the friends and have a good time with a bonfire? Grab a beer, have a seat. Cheery tunes fill the salty air. There's plenty of room and so much to eat.

Matt Murdock is actually dressed for the beach. Still likely more than usual. He burns so easily. There's no way he could have done this alone. Anyone who is anyone in Nexus knows that there is that distinct Verity Willis touch on everything. If the sounds and the sights don't get you, it is going to be whatever Clint has on the grill. That man is magic.

"I am Groot," he explains, gesturing to the expanse of sand, people, and water.

"I am Groot," the tree promises pleasantly. He wouldn't want the party games to be insufficiently party-ish through Groot shortage.

There is no way to Groot. Groot is the way.

Groot and Good are fairly synonymous, it's true. He also makes an excellent bastion of support, when someone needs to lean. "I am Groot," he assures Verity, in answer to her thanks.

"I've got rabbit food, I've got grilled corn on the cob, I've got bratwurst, hot dogs, burgers, bacon-burgers, ribeyes, and a few more burgers and steaks over here on the kosher grill."

"We could go for a walk. I like people watching myself, and walking around is an excellent way to do that."

"I wanted to get the first round cooked off before I had some," he explains. "Don't wait for me, though, or yours'll get cold."

"Well the bacon burgers sound like a good starting point. And grilled corn on the cob would be awesome too."

"And if I added a ribeye, do you think that would be too greedy?" Hunter chuckles lightly.

Well, that got him caught fairly quickly. "So I can provide color commentary while my friends have a snow fight," he answers, grinning. "And they know not to mess with me, or they won't get any--and ohh, they can smell it. Noses make great arguments."

"Well, back in like, castle days," Clint admits. "Still, a classic's a classic!"

Lucky heard "dog" and "bag," and lifts his head from his paws with a sound half-inquisitive, half-hopeful.

"Hey, we're all on the same side," Clint assures him. "You never know when one'a those gangs is gonna turn out to be the tip of some international conspiracy or somethin'. 'S crazy."

It is during our darkest moments that we must Groot to see the light.

Ver grins up at her best arboreal buddy. "You're right, there's always time for another dance. But I don't think I can spin you around like that, I'm too short."

They'll have to settle for something more mundane where they both use their feet like plebes.

"Do they?" She rests her chin on his shoulder and studies his nose. There's a lot of intense staring going on. No nose has ever been studied so thoroughly at a beach party before.

"I dunno, yours seems pretty quiet."

Groot gives an agreeable rumble, glancing up and down the beach, before looking back to Hunter, head tilted curiously to one side.

Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it Groot.

Groot grins as well. When people are smiling, Groot is happy.

There's nothing wrong with another kind of dance. Or any kind of dance, really; Groot has yet to discover one he didn't enjoy.

Clint chuckles, wrinkling up his nose. "That's because you're listening to the wrong one." He wafts his plate under her chin, with all its rising aromas of grilled deliciousness. "Imagine it's a cold winter day, the air is crisp and clear, and then you catch a whiff of chili--warm and spicy and great."

Hunter takes his sketch book with him, before smiling up at Groot.

"How about this way?" He is going to head down the beach, towards the people, where he can watch more everything. And just enjoy seeing his friends having fun.

Groot makes another amiable sound, falling into step. With Groot's long strides, he doesn't have any trouble keeping pace with Hunter. He smiles and waves as they approach people--he's such a friendly tree.

Believe you can and you're halfway Groot.

That's because Groot is actually a dehappuous tree. It's his nature to be happy.

He would absolutely own the Harlem Shake. But Ver's going a little more freeform at the moment, borrowing steps from any dance she knows in order to keep up with him. The differences in their strides make for an interesting counterrhythm she has to dance to.

It is really fun time to walk down the beach, and watch Groot wave at people as they approach and pass them. For Hunter, this is a lot different than how he used to act around groups of people, as he is not trying to hide his features or himself.

Frea would rather not imagine anything as horrible as winter and cold and snow, thank you. It doesn't bode well for her. But she'll enjoy the deliciousness. "I bet it's nice. And if you're trying to get your arm back, you're going to have to do more to tempt me."

Way to go, Clint, you total goon. "Nah, you got my arm, fair an' square," he concedes, "just setting the scene. Uh, you wanna go sit somewhere?"

Be the Groot that you wish to see in the world.

In autumn, he sheds piles and piles of joy.

Freeform dancing is just fine--Groot is hardly one to confine himself to a single style or discipline. It's all just step, sway, move to the music.

So much the better, then. Groot's shade is a nurturing thing, a surprisingly good place for people to grow into themselves.

No act of Groot, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

He does, she's seen it. Getting her to smile last fall was a Herculean task.

That's one of the things she loves about him. He's been through so much, but can happily dance and twirl like nobody's watching and then be even happier to be caught doing it. He's amazing.

Food and flowers are usually things boasted of from places like Highgarden or Dorne. Boy will they be in for a treat! At the very least, Tarth has to offer views like no other in the Seven Kingdoms.

Oh but what are thorns truly? Life has its barbs. And Brienne has a bark rough exterior. When there will be kisses oh then any thorns should be just fine.

She still smiles. No other reproach or remark aside from a little more color. That's the standard is it not? "I can't place the day but it was before I left to pledge Tarth for King Renly. I'd say more than a year." Another kick to the water. "Too long."

"Ah," she nods and it seems good manners to her to take a bite of appreciation and because he is bidding her to do so. "You are," wait needs more chewing. Mmm. Good. "In the servitude of the hosts?"
