The season is a'changing, the weather is warmer. The forecast calls for high temperature, low humidity and a light breeze. A near perfect day. What better reason to gather the friends and have a good time with a bonfire? Grab a beer, have a seat. Cheery tunes fill the salty air. There's plenty of room and so much to eat.

Matt Murdock is actually dressed for the beach. Still likely more than usual. He burns so easily. There's no way he could have done this alone. Anyone who is anyone in Nexus knows that there is that distinct Verity Willis touch on everything. If the sounds and the sights don't get you, it is going to be whatever Clint has on the grill. That man is magic.

How can someone already so naturally cheerful brighten? Groot manages, somehow, at the prospect of dancing, and extends a hand. "I am Groot?"

"Happy to." Verity will always dance with Groot. She'll put one of her hands in his and let him take the lead without concern. He's a good dancer and they've always managed to make a good showing before.

They have, indeed, and the party must be going well if they're already dancing again. Groot is certainly happy with the situation.

Because it is tradition: The heart was made to Groot.

Groot dancing is all that's needed to make a party go well. Or to make a party. He's magic like that.

Ver's hat probably won't stay on her head much longer, but that's okay. She'll find it again later. Letting Groot twirl her around until she's dizzy is much more fun than worrying about hats. When she opens her mouth to warn him all that comes out is giggles.

And now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Groot. But the greatest of these is Groot.

Giggles are like butterflies, in that both tend to fill the air around Groot on a regular basis (he enjoys the company of either, as well). Although an eager and able dance partner, he also understands that sometimes people need to be set back on their feet.

Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of Groot.

He deserves giggles and butterflies both. He's a good man. Tree. Tree man? The giggling doesn't stop when her feet touch the ground again. She'll giggle and lean against him until she feels steady again. "Woo. Thank you."

There is no way to Groot. Groot is the way.

Groot and Good are fairly synonymous, it's true. He also makes an excellent bastion of support, when someone needs to lean. "I am Groot," he assures Verity, in answer to her thanks.

It is during our darkest moments that we must Groot to see the light.

Ver grins up at her best arboreal buddy. "You're right, there's always time for another dance. But I don't think I can spin you around like that, I'm too short."

They'll have to settle for something more mundane where they both use their feet like plebes.

Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it Groot.

Groot grins as well. When people are smiling, Groot is happy.

There's nothing wrong with another kind of dance. Or any kind of dance, really; Groot has yet to discover one he didn't enjoy.

Believe you can and you're halfway Groot.

That's because Groot is actually a dehappuous tree. It's his nature to be happy.

He would absolutely own the Harlem Shake. But Ver's going a little more freeform at the moment, borrowing steps from any dance she knows in order to keep up with him. The differences in their strides make for an interesting counterrhythm she has to dance to.

Be the Groot that you wish to see in the world.

In autumn, he sheds piles and piles of joy.

Freeform dancing is just fine--Groot is hardly one to confine himself to a single style or discipline. It's all just step, sway, move to the music.

No act of Groot, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

He does, she's seen it. Getting her to smile last fall was a Herculean task.

That's one of the things she loves about him. He's been through so much, but can happily dance and twirl like nobody's watching and then be even happier to be caught doing it. He's amazing.

Fall seven times, stand up Groot.

Groot has broad shoulders for a reason, and a smile of similar proportion likewise.

Amazing? He is Groot.
