The season is a'changing, the weather is warmer. The forecast calls for high temperature, low humidity and a light breeze. A near perfect day. What better reason to gather the friends and have a good time with a bonfire? Grab a beer, have a seat. Cheery tunes fill the salty air. There's plenty of room and so much to eat.

Matt Murdock is actually dressed for the beach. Still likely more than usual. He burns so easily. There's no way he could have done this alone. Anyone who is anyone in Nexus knows that there is that distinct Verity Willis touch on everything. If the sounds and the sights don't get you, it is going to be whatever Clint has on the grill. That man is magic.

His enthusiasm and smile mean he is untroubled by his...perhaps it is a malady...so she smiles back. She cranes her neck to see closer. "If I may?"

"Sure." Hunter hands over his sketch book. Right now, there are mostly rough sketches of faces and some of the people who are around the beach today.

"I make the quick sketches in that book, then when I get home I flesh it out with a more structured drawing."

Brienne gently takes the book into her hands and looks over what he's done thus far. The figures do match those who are here and now. He has an eye for to be sure. "Are you self taught in your art?"

"Yes. I have always enjoyed watching people and seeing the special moments in their lives. It wasn't until recent that I started drawing what I saw... to tell the stories that go untold." Hunter explains softly.

"It is remarkable. I do hope you have a patron to continue in your works." He could someday do a notable portrait or perhaps a sept. Though they don't have septs or the Faith of the Seven as it is. Even so she gingerly hands the book back to him.

"I have a few friends who enjoy my art. Plus I have had my artwork hang in a few museums." Hunter smiles in response.

"I'm Hunter." He extends his hand.

"That is impressive." And now she has met a noteworthy artist. Brienne smiles in a slow, hesitant way as one that isn't used to easy, friendly company.

"Brienne of Tarth," she takes his hand for a strong, solid shake.

Hunter's handshake is also strong, but not as solid as hers. He always uses his left hand in these sort of greetings. It should be noted, that his left arm is the one that has an extensive dead rose bush tattoo on his forearm.

"Of Tarth. Is that a title?"

She has never seen a person marked as he is. At first glance she thought he had Greyscale as Princess Shireen had. But they are intricate, purposeful. Bits of art themselves. She slowly drops her hand.

"Tarth is my family name and ancestral home. I've not yet taken up title as lady as my father is Lord Tarth."

Hunter tilts his head in interest. "It must be an interesting place."

"It's unlike this place in many ways." First being technology. No horses. All of these strange carriages.

"How long have you been in the Nexus?"

"A few weeks now." Not long enough to immediately adapt. Backwards, medieval civilization to now there is so much catching up to do.

"It must have been quite an adjustment."

"To say in the least, yes. The benefits have outweighed the negatives. This place is very peaceful.

"I have enjoyed it since coming here myself." But Hunter didn't have quite the adjustment. His relocation was drastic since he was trying to find himself, after having his appearance changed.

"Is this place much like your home?"

"I am used to a much-crowded place. I used to live in New York, a bustling major city."

"You were an artist there as well?"

"No. I didn't become an artist until coming to the Nexus."

"May I ask what you had done before?" Because it is not impossible to be anyone's knight or guardian in Nexus... it just is not the same as in Westeros.

Hunter frowns slightly, rubbing the back of his head. "I was a student. And a rich man's son, who was terribly spoiled."

"I've known a man or two like that. You speak of it as a passing state of being?" Which means great things.

"Well I am no longer spoiled, or rich, or consider myself to be that man's son."

"And that was of your choosing?" she asks softly. Choosing to forsake title and wealth for independence is not an unheard of cause. She just wants to be sure she's understanding the curious man correctly?
