The season is a'changing, the weather is warmer. The forecast calls for high temperature, low humidity and a light breeze. A near perfect day. What better reason to gather the friends and have a good time with a bonfire? Grab a beer, have a seat. Cheery tunes fill the salty air. There's plenty of room and so much to eat.

Matt Murdock is actually dressed for the beach. Still likely more than usual. He burns so easily. There's no way he could have done this alone. Anyone who is anyone in Nexus knows that there is that distinct Verity Willis touch on everything. If the sounds and the sights don't get you, it is going to be whatever Clint has on the grill. That man is magic.

"Ah," work projects. He grins and takes another sip of beer. The project and work is close to him too. There always is need for a lawyer. "We're co-workers. Schön is my client."

"He had mentioned you, before I even knew about your connection to Verity. I was looking for a lawyer to help me with claiming a trust fund."

"I am right now in the midst of changing my name, legally, and then I be able to fund another idea I had." And since they are talking about it now, Hunter is not going to be able to change the subject too quickly again. It is something near and dear to his heart.

"I want to build a homeless shelter, that not only provides a roof when it is needed... but also has resources so those who need help finishing school, or improving their resume, or getting internship can do so. A place where those who need a little support to achieve their dreams... can find the right people and the right resources."

"Was? Did you get that resolved?" His eyebrows lift up over his glasses.

Changing a name, that's easy. The rest is a challenge. The more that Hunter says though the more it is clear he is not a typical man for one. The project after being out on his own on the streets it's a loving and rare opportunity anyone in his position could get. "Hunter, that's amazing. You really put a lot of thought into it. So many people would benefit from that. Were you thinking a single location or a establishing a nonprofit organization?"

"Now that my name is legally changed, we have started the paperwork to claim my trust fund. The waiting part is the hardest."

"I would love to create a non-profit organization. Something any community could join and offer."

The phrase is so true! Matt reaches to give Hunter a pat. "It is. But it's a small step in the whole journey you've got ahead of you."

Another good drink of his beer. "With your charisma, I think it would take off. And God knows that there are people who would be willing. Sometimes all anyone needs is a chance."

Hunter smiles at the friendly pat. "One benefit of legally changing my name is I can get a new passport. And a new driver's license."

It speaks volumes about how Hunter is comfortable enough to get his picture taken for both forms of ID.

He blushes at the remark about having charisma. "It was all I needed... just a little support to get me off the streets. But I can't help but think about those who were also out there."

"The silver lining keeps going." Is it even a gray cloud at all? It seems like a rhetorical question. Hunter is shedding an old identity entirely.

The temperature change on other man's face sets a contrast. That's part of how Matt sees things. Snippets of sensation gathering bits to scrap together an image. Ah, there he is. "And now that you were saved you can help save others," don't look now it all strikes a deep chord in him as a Catholic and a hero type.

Today, with the enjoyment of the beach party and good people around him, is not the time to think about the gray clouds. But they will come. It is their purpose in life... as gray clouds.

"And I already got a nice black trench coat, in case I need to hit the streets." Hunter chuckles lightly. He has no idea of Matt's 'other' profession.

Now there is a perspective that all could stand to take in. Anything that is has a right to be. Clouds, white and gray. That's the nature of things. It is not innately bad nor good. It has to serve it's purpose.

"Oh yeah? Got some mad skills?" Laughing about it is so much easier than addressing it!

"Enough skills to face Central Park at night, with some confidence. Living in New York, one has to know how to handle themselves some nights."

"Aaah," he smiles and there's an edge to it. "Well, it's uh..." Matt licks his lips and sets the bottle to his mouth poised to take a drink. "It's dangerous now and then. Everybody should be careful."

"The city is beautiful in its own way... but it is true that it never sleeps." Hunter remarks fondly.

"It will always be where I grew up, no matter where my home is now."

"People who hate it take it for granted. It's a lot of things. I love it." And it's an honest, wistful admission. "I love it for what it is and I love it for what it could be. No place like it at all."

No place like Nexus either.

"You know what they say. If you can make it there you can make it anywhere. And you sure did."

"It is very nice to meet other New Yorkers, here in the Nexus." Hunter grins softly.

"I agree. It's kind of like having a piece of it right here."

For himself. For Verity too. And now Hunter.
