The season is a'changing, the weather is warmer. The forecast calls for high temperature, low humidity and a light breeze. A near perfect day. What better reason to gather the friends and have a good time with a bonfire? Grab a beer, have a seat. Cheery tunes fill the salty air. There's plenty of room and so much to eat.

Matt Murdock is actually dressed for the beach. Still likely more than usual. He burns so easily. There's no way he could have done this alone. Anyone who is anyone in Nexus knows that there is that distinct Verity Willis touch on everything. If the sounds and the sights don't get you, it is going to be whatever Clint has on the grill. That man is magic.

"Was it a good night or a bad night?" Because when alcohol is involved you can never tell immediately.

"Nehhhhh, not great," he admits grudgingly. Because talking about functional depression is super-fun.

Matt's voice drops to say, "I'm not judging." Whatever the circumstance. He has had several bouts with a ruthlessly persistent gloom. Feeling like he put the guy on the spot won't do.

"I passed out in a dumpster once. That was sober." Just rookie vigilante things.

"Oof," Clint groans, giving a sympathetic wince. "Behind a restaurant?" he guesses, because that's always the kind of luck he has.

"No but it was a communal dumpster. God the smell," Matt winces and bends his head over the plate to drown his nose in new, delicious and pleasant aromas.

"Been there," Clint groans in sympathy. "We've all been there sometime."

"It's a love hate thing. I mean, it broke my fall and saved my back." And forever riddled him with a creeping feeling under his skin about garbage. Laying in garbage.

"You know, we should start a bingo card or something. One square is falling in a dumpster. One square is falling through a window...but maybe that should be a free space."

"Hero bingo," Clint muses. "I could get behind that. The free space should be, 'teamed up with Wolverine.' Or Spider-Man."

"Why not?" Ahem. He hasn't actually met the rumored Spider-Man. As to Wolverine? Well, who hasn't heard of the guy. Hard to miss him. Though it's weird how Upstate New York and Queens are like different cities entirely.

"Though I don't know what the prize would be."

Lucky hasn't been forgotten. Matt "drops" another piece. Whoops.

Matt is fast becoming one of Lucky's favorite people--every drop is manna from heaven (and all dogs, as you know, go to heaven).
