A multiversal plane is not an every day occurrence. Aliens, zombies, sentient robots... they're not a familiar sight either. Despite all of this, Isidor Briar Durant strides into this unfamiliar territory chin up, tailored suit, heels clicking against the ground, as if she owns the place. Viatorus follows nervously behind her, offering her answers whenever the smallest spark of confusion appears in her eyes as she scans area. She takes her time about putting names and terms to the things around her. It is important. She needs to be more than just informed about the Nexus, she needs to be familiar with it.
And then, when she decides she's ready, her intense examination changes with a blink. Isidor clasps her hands together and smiles, becoming the picture of a friendly stranger. "Hello. This is an exciting place, isn't it? Full of interesting people, I'm certain. I'd very much like to get to know you. Your name, a little bit about you and where you come from, maybe."

"You have an interest in this place?" Steve looks around them somewhat. "I suppose it is rather bizarre. I uhm...I'm from Brooklyn, circa 1941. Seems like there's a lot of us from New York in various times and worlds. I got stuck here a while ago, so...now I do art commissions to make a living." Steve is friendly and all American in his expressions and smiles. Wholesome.
"I'd uhm..I'd be careful makin' trips to an' from here, in case no one told you about the possibility of getting stuck."

Viatorus's mouth flaps as he tries to think of how to contribute, and ends up shrugging and nodding while he rubs his hands. "I-It was an accident at first."
"But now he opens and closes portals on a daily basis." Pride seeps into her tone and shows in the slight tilt of her chin. "I'm very lucky." Then it's back to warming up to Steve. "Maybe if you ask nicely he'll see if he can help you get home. This must be a huge change from 1940s Brooklyn."

"It is, Ma'am. I get by though. The people here are friendly, on the whole. And this place isn't at war, which is....a nice change."

Getting herself back on track, she nods slowly. "Yes, peace... I can't imagine how nice that must be. We're both very fortunate in that regard."
"Wh-What sort of... What sort of art do you do?" Viatorus manages to ask, nerves finally breaking through curiosity.

But the later pages, those are full of people Viatorus should know. There's a few sketches of Verity--drinking coffee at a diner, cooking, reading. One of Samus Aran the bounty hunter tapping a datapad. A picture of Groot dancing from the Halloween party. A sketch of Amelia that's mostly a bust shot study of her mask from the party, and one of the undead knight Harrowheart, grinning like the pleasant creature he is.
His style is realistic, with most emphasis on capturing the motion of the subject, the life they give off.

Isidor watches Viatorus for a moment before looking back to Steve. "Viatorus does some of his own drawing..."
"Not like this," he pipes up, less anxious now that he has something to distract him. "These are wonderful! I'm not good at capturing this much detail." It's only when he looks up again that he hesitates. "What...ah, what kind of paint do you use?"
no subject
He seems thrilled at the idea of an art buddy.

"If you practiced more..." Isidor suggests gently and then smiles between the two. "Maybe Mr Rogers would be kind enough to give you a few tips."

Steve gives Isidor a smile, thanking her silently for encouraging her brother to draw with Steve. he's always glad for company. Plus, how could anyone say no to that smile?

The small victory allows Isidor to beam and lean in slightly to Steve. "Ignore his lack of enthusiasm. He'll be excited about it later."
He offers the book back to Steve, trying not to appear annoyed at his sister talking about him. "Thank you for letting me look at it."

"I'm usually here if you can't find me around the Nexus. Oh!" He fumbles in his pockets before pulling out a blue Starkphone he's still not used to operating. "Uhm..this thing has a number too. It buzzes if you call it. Uhm..."
Not the slightest clue how to operate this thing yet.

"Have you been?" Viatorus is back to fidgeting with his hands. "It's enormous. And beautiful."
