a wild mewtwo appears!
[Nexus visitors come in all shapes and sizes, but today one might find a 6' 7" feline-looking creature wandering around the forums. The Pokemon has been exploring the vast Nexus for quite a while now, fascinated and somewhat confused by the environment. Yes, he's read the brochure and knows where he's at, but it's taken him a while to actually come up with a good question (or to get over his hesitation to talk with humans) Visitors of the Nexus might hear him speaking, but only as a subtle thought in their minds via telepathy.]
This place, the Nexus, it seems to hold many possibilities and endless avenues of exploration. Tell me....If you could go anywhere, what place would you choose to visit? And what kind of things would you do there?
[He pauses, then adds one last question. Observant folks might see a trend with the Pokemon's line of questioning.]
What is the best way to travel without being seen or spotted?
((OOC Notes: Mewtwo does speak with telepathy, so if you have a character who's sensitive to psychic powers, be advised and please let me know. Mewtwo will not read a person's mind unless permission is granted, but Mewtwo can sense small bits of power from people.))

Note- due to what Dix is, Mewtwo might sense disparancies between the mind and the person talking.
"Traveling without being seen or spotted, however, that's a question I'm afraid I'm not sure the answer to. The only reason I haven't been seen or spotted is because, well, this isn't... really my own body."
got it, thanks for the heads up
[He can sense something is off with this boy, but doesn't ask or pry into the mind of an unknown person. Asking more questions is always a healthier way to get information.]
It's alright. The question is a rather difficult one. However, just now you claim to be not in your own body. Are you a wandering spirit of sorts? [He's seen Gengar and other ghost pokemon lead people astray, so maybe that's the case here?]
Re: got it, thanks for the heads up
Dix rubbed her neck. "As for the whole body thing... it's a rather long story, but to make it short, my soul currently shares this body with someone from Luxendarc... a poor kid who's suffered so much. His own consciousness is sleeping right now due to the Nexus' abilities, else I'd introduce him."
Re: got it, thanks for the heads up
[He catches sight of the gesture and responds with a calm stare.] Ah, so you're the boy's protector. You don't have to worry about a formal introduction...all beings need rest at given times.
Re: got it, thanks for the heads up
And she smiles. "Yes, his protector sounds rather accurate. It's the most I can do to help him after everything that happened to him."
no subject
[He nods in understanding.] I wish you the best then, in protecting this human boy. It sounds like your struggles will be going on for a while.

The trick isn't in being seen, it's being overlooked. Appear as something innocuous, and the people who see you won't think anything of it. Not knowing the details of what it's like where you're from, it's difficult to suggest specifics.
no subject
Overlooked, you say? If most other worlds are populated by humans, I fear that I would fail at that task due to my appearances causing me to stand out. But the advice is greatly appreciated, Samus.
I must thank you for the other day. I was able to find a way back home soon after our talk, but also, I appreciate the conversation we had.

*His remark about his appearance gets a smirk.*
It might have something to do with your walking around naked all the time. Put on some pants, some shoes that fit, a long coat, a hat, maybe a wig? Most humans who don't get a good look at you won't think much of what they see.
no subject
[He frowns at her suggestion. It's hard to imagine himself wearing human clothes. And what's this about being 'naked'? He's not amused, to say the least.]
Pokemon don't wear human clothes. [His arms cross over his chest] There has to be something else, a much less demoralizing solution than dressing up. I'll find a solution eventually.
no subject
There is, always, the opposite of blending in and going unnoticed, as an option.
no subject
[He seems calm now, but if Samus is observant she might notice the pokemon being lost in thought.]

If you want a place in the world, you're going to have to make it. And if you don't want to hide from humans, you might as well talk to them. Find one of their journalists, tell your story, tell them what you want out of life and how you want to be treated. Be clever, be persuasive, be earnest... and when you're done, be funny. Persuade them, and they'll respect you, side with you. Most of them, anyway.
no subject
Life is what you make of it. However, I'm not sure I could take the route you've described, given humans were the reason I was brought into this world forcefully. Even now I struggle to adjust with humans at times, but the Nexus is different than home.
...It's hard to find people to trust. Don't you agree?
no subject
*At his dismissal of the suggestion, she shrugs.*
How many humans are on your homeworld? And how many were involved with your... "forceful" introduction? Consider that ratio for a moment, and ask if the one is likely to be entirely like the other.
no subject
[He has to stop and think about Samus's second question for a moment before responding.]
If I were to guess, I'd say at least millions of people live on my planet. As for my creation, it was a select group of scientists, about 20 people. The ratio is lopsided. So...what you're saying is that maybe not all people are evil by nature?
no subject
Many of the humans I've met are decent people, and very empathetic when they realize the nonhuman they're dealing with is a person. But they don't usually figure it out until that person tells them. As you're weighing ratios, consider also this number: how many of those at-least-millions have you met so far?
no subject
[He smirks a little, in a good way.] Thank you, Samus. I should take your advice to heart and give it a try in the future.
no subject
I'll wish you good fortune in it, then.
no subject
...Do you mind if I ask you an additional question?
no subject
*She smirks, but chuckles.*
Go ahead, Mewtwo. There's no limit, and if you ask something I don't want to answer, I'll tell you so.
no subject
[He actually seems pleased by her cleverness and her company. That small smile on his face should let her know that.]
I want to explore the different worlds of the Nexus. What's the best way to do this without losing my way? To do have any advice for such a journey?
no subject
Do you mean you want to explore the environs of the Nexus itself, or of the Facets connected to it?

There are things it's better to know before wandering off, certainly. The first is to always secure a route back here. Some people have magic for that, or some other natural ability, some rely on the portals--but they can be iffy. There's no indication on this side when or how often they open on the other side. It can make for a long wait. There was someone here who built a portable transdimensional portal engine he called a PINpoint.
She holds out what looks like a fat, palm-sized pocketwatch, offering it to Mewtwo for his inspection.
I've certainly found them useful. While you're in other Facets, you should also watch out for magic--gods, fairies, exact words, alternate meanings, it's good to be careful.
no subject
[He stares at the watch and immediately recognizes it from the first time he met Samus. Carefully, he accepts the object, holding it in the air with his psychic powers. His eyes examine the watch closely, looking at the details and pieces of the device.]
What exactly does this do? As for exploring, it won't happen until I know what my risks are and how to avoid the major ones. It's safe to assume each world is different and potentially not safe.
no subject
The object appears at first glance to be a fairly large specimen of pocketwatch, some three inches across and nearly an inch thick, its panels of burnished brass and gold. Opening it does not reveal a watch face, however--rather, the display within is several rows of digital coordinates. Opening it also releases a cloud of holographic displays, menus, and sensitive control airspaces.
It creates portals, between Facets and the Nexus, the Nexus and Facets, even between Facets without an intervening stop here. The portals it creates are temporary, but as long as you're carrying it and it isn't broken, you can always make another one. It also has a messaging app for communicating with other PINpoint owners.
no subject
[He studies a device while Sames explains it to him, noting the different numbers and displays. He closes the watch carefully and offers it back to Samus with care.]
Did you make this one on your own? Or did someone give it to you?
Again, without the oops
There are places where they're freely available; I picked up a few spares, there, including this one, which I've been modifying. Added a few more safety lockouts, that sort of thing.

[He nods in agreement to Hudson's words.] I've been doing that for quite a while in my home world with much success. But any new techniques I can learn are always for the better. My identity can't be compromised on my world, for human find it fit to try and capture me.
[The gargoyle gets another look over.] What manner of creature are you, if I may ask?
no subject
"Well, there is sorcery, if you care ta learn it. Never studied it meself."
"I am a gargoyle, protector and defender of a domain and its people. We allywith humans as per our code of honour to defend their country."
Another Pokemon!
"Hello Mewtwo! Hmm...I'd like to see more of lots of places we've battled in. Like Isle Delfino!" The tournament had many stages that they visited but they rarely managed to sightsee or enjoy the locales. And Isle Delfino seemed bright, sunny and friendly!
