a wild mewtwo appears!
[Nexus visitors come in all shapes and sizes, but today one might find a 6' 7" feline-looking creature wandering around the forums. The Pokemon has been exploring the vast Nexus for quite a while now, fascinated and somewhat confused by the environment. Yes, he's read the brochure and knows where he's at, but it's taken him a while to actually come up with a good question (or to get over his hesitation to talk with humans) Visitors of the Nexus might hear him speaking, but only as a subtle thought in their minds via telepathy.]
This place, the Nexus, it seems to hold many possibilities and endless avenues of exploration. Tell me....If you could go anywhere, what place would you choose to visit? And what kind of things would you do there?
[He pauses, then adds one last question. Observant folks might see a trend with the Pokemon's line of questioning.]
What is the best way to travel without being seen or spotted?
((OOC Notes: Mewtwo does speak with telepathy, so if you have a character who's sensitive to psychic powers, be advised and please let me know. Mewtwo will not read a person's mind unless permission is granted, but Mewtwo can sense small bits of power from people.))

...Do you mind if I ask you an additional question?

*She smirks, but chuckles.*
Go ahead, Mewtwo. There's no limit, and if you ask something I don't want to answer, I'll tell you so.

[He actually seems pleased by her cleverness and her company. That small smile on his face should let her know that.]
I want to explore the different worlds of the Nexus. What's the best way to do this without losing my way? To do have any advice for such a journey?

Do you mean you want to explore the environs of the Nexus itself, or of the Facets connected to it?

There are things it's better to know before wandering off, certainly. The first is to always secure a route back here. Some people have magic for that, or some other natural ability, some rely on the portals--but they can be iffy. There's no indication on this side when or how often they open on the other side. It can make for a long wait. There was someone here who built a portable transdimensional portal engine he called a PINpoint.
She holds out what looks like a fat, palm-sized pocketwatch, offering it to Mewtwo for his inspection.
I've certainly found them useful. While you're in other Facets, you should also watch out for magic--gods, fairies, exact words, alternate meanings, it's good to be careful.

[He stares at the watch and immediately recognizes it from the first time he met Samus. Carefully, he accepts the object, holding it in the air with his psychic powers. His eyes examine the watch closely, looking at the details and pieces of the device.]
What exactly does this do? As for exploring, it won't happen until I know what my risks are and how to avoid the major ones. It's safe to assume each world is different and potentially not safe.

The object appears at first glance to be a fairly large specimen of pocketwatch, some three inches across and nearly an inch thick, its panels of burnished brass and gold. Opening it does not reveal a watch face, however--rather, the display within is several rows of digital coordinates. Opening it also releases a cloud of holographic displays, menus, and sensitive control airspaces.
It creates portals, between Facets and the Nexus, the Nexus and Facets, even between Facets without an intervening stop here. The portals it creates are temporary, but as long as you're carrying it and it isn't broken, you can always make another one. It also has a messaging app for communicating with other PINpoint owners.

[He studies a device while Sames explains it to him, noting the different numbers and displays. He closes the watch carefully and offers it back to Samus with care.]
Did you make this one on your own? Or did someone give it to you?
Again, without the oops
There are places where they're freely available; I picked up a few spares, there, including this one, which I've been modifying. Added a few more safety lockouts, that sort of thing.
