holy guacamole it's foggy nelson!
"Excuse me." Bumped past someone. What? He's preoccupied with trying to find out where he is exactly. The seats at the forum seem like a good place to crash. This is what he gets for venturing out to a fancy schmancy coffee shop that Marci picked out. The door should have lead to the bathroom.
Should have.
"You ever feel like you're just really, really lost?"
Should have.
"You ever feel like you're just really, really lost?"

Wait.
Shit.
Is it too late to hide? It's probably too late to hide.
Better smile. Smiles are good. Maybe, if she's extremely lucky, he's just stumbled out of Josie's and she can get him home and he won't realize...
"Only when I'm really, really lost." Not freaking out here no nope not at all.
:D so cuuuuuute
Or multiverse. He has no idea. Foggy narrowly avoids bumping into someone else to come closer to her arms open. Yeah, he's trying to go for a hug.
Yes they are. :D
Okay. She can do hugs. And she likes Foggy, that makes it easier the first time. She's kind of good at these things when she relaxes. "We should get you home."
no subject
"I can. I mean," he snickers and has to say it because they can laugh together, "I'm not Matt. I just got a little turned around."
Yeah, not exactly picking up on many details. Although, "Did they change around Uptown recently?"
no subject
"Um. Yes. Have you been to Josie's recently?" Ver will take his arm and try to steer him toward the portal Matt showed her. Same portal? Probably not. Good enough? Definitely. "What're you doing Uptown anyway?"
no subject
"Not since two days ago. Why? Want to go back?" He brightens at the idea. Her steering is not discouraged, he's very responsive.
"How have you been?"
no subject
The suit leaves his soul wonderfully intact. But the secret's in his hair. Like Samson.
"Oh, I think we'll be heading back to Josie's soon, yeah," she agrees. One or maybe both of them are going to need lots of cheap drinks when he realizes what's going on. And she can't distract him from it forever.
"I've been good. Fine. Busy. Museums don't just build themselves, did you know that? There's like, stuff involved. Professional stuff."
no subject
Sssshhh don't go and give away his secrets. His hair is filled with them.
"Oh yeah? Nice! I knew you'd end up liking it. He's such a worry wart. It's about the ambiance. Down home, am I right?" Never underestimate the power of cheap drinks and dawning realizations of what a small jaunt to elsewhere and elseworlds does.
"Without stuff, what would you put in a museum?"
no subject
His secrets, and his hair, are safe with her. Can't make any promises about Marci.
"It's... definitely something." She will neither confirm nor deny that she likes it. It's not the worst bar she's seen, but... it's a little scary. Loud and crowded and not the sort of place she's comfortable in. She's fragile, Foggy, there's a reason Matt treats her like she's made of spun sugar. But that's a story for another day.
"I have no idea, but I'm sure some pretentious twit has done it. We're not lacking for stuff to put in, we just need a place to put it all. And architects are moody."
no subject
Verity and Marci need a nice, slow introduction. There's a potential for explosions there.
"Yeah," his agreement comes with a sigh and a fond, distant look. She seems jumpy. But maybe that's because she's sensitive. Not the way that their mutual friend is. In some way. Foggy figures the details will come along in due time. All in due time.
"What kinda museum is it again?" He looks around to where she is leading. "Did...--? Where are we Verity?"
no subject
She's got nothing against Marci, really, but easing her into meeting new people she has to be nice to is generally a good strategy. The jumpiness is just part of the reason.
"An art museum." She'd been preparing to talk about forever, or at least until she got him back to the Kitchen, but then he had to go and ask that didn't he? Sigh. "We're... Okay. I know this is going to sound insane. We're in a place that's in-between realities. It's called the Nexus."
no subject
Marci kind of likes to poke at things that squirm. That's where her attraction with Foggy started. She can be nice. Again, she and Foggy have a connection. There's just that tendency of her's to be very, very Marci all at once.
Of course he had to ask. He's a lawyer! "Come again?"
no subject
Ver and Marci will sort themselves out. Marci pokes, Ver snarks, it'll be the beginning of a terrifying friendship for all the boyfriends. Not even just theirs, because they might give lessons.
"Okay... let's start at the beginning. There are multiple realities. An infinite number. You know the theory that every time you make a choice, every possible outcome of that action happens somewhere? It's kinda like that. This is the place in-between those places."

Hide the tortilla chips.
*The remark comes from a tall woman passing by in some kind of blue garment that fits her like a second skin from the neck down. She pauses, moved by a merciful impulse.*
Take a minute to breathe, then follow what you remember backward to the last time you were somewhere familiar.
why do they call them nachos?
"That's a good idea. You'd think I'd be used to it, you know?"
That's a good question. Why *do* they call them nachos?
*She's not in a hurry to go anywhere, and he's made her curious.*
Why would you be used to it?
...it's because they're NOT YOs.... *ba dum dum tish!*
Though really the more he looks around at the people passing the more things add up differently.
Wah wah wahh~
New York? You're not in New York anymore.
*She occasionally applies her demolitions expertise to conversations.*
I'll be here all night!!
Don't tip your waitress, her balance is already chancy on those heels. Try the veal.
*She gives a slight shrug.*
It happens.
It's VEALly good

Foggy pauses and blinks before squinting. He then tilts his head one way and then the other.
"Okay. Am I being punked?"

At some point, in your Facet, on your planet, you encountered a spatial instability--a door, a path, a wrong turn--that brought you to this place, outside your or any other universe. Objectively speaking, it happens all the time.
