made waves with some friends I know

Matt Murdock is actually dressed for the beach. Still likely more than usual. He burns so easily. There's no way he could have done this alone. Anyone who is anyone in Nexus knows that there is that distinct Verity Willis touch on everything. If the sounds and the sights don't get you, it is going to be whatever Clint has on the grill. That man is magic.

That's what you call ruff.
Matt grins. "Thanks. That means a lot to me. I mean, I know that you and your side," those Avenger people, "have a lot on your plate but we all have the same cause."

Lucky heard "dog" and "bag," and lifts his head from his paws with a sound half-inquisitive, half-hopeful.
"Hey, we're all on the same side," Clint assures him. "You never know when one'a those gangs is gonna turn out to be the tip of some international conspiracy or somethin'. 'S crazy."

Sorry, Lucky. Not just yet. Patience is a virtue.
"You know the way things roll these days I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest," and that is worth sighing over. "In the mean time if anyone starts trouble here they're going to have to go through us." If the anti-violence shield didn't first.

"Heh. Yeah, I just got done clearin' some tracksuit bozos outta my neighborhood, not too long ago," Clint admits. "Real bunch'a jerks, lemme tell ya. How about you?"
no subject
"Tracksuits? That's what the gangs are wearing now?" He clicks his tongue. "A lot of one shot armed robberies or assaults. Nothing seemingly organized. I'm glad."
no subject
"Hey, that's good," Clint agrees. "Is it desperate locals hittin' up their neighbors, or people coming from other parts of town to where they figure no one'll care if a place gets robbed?"
no subject
"Desperate locals. I don't know which is worse though now that you mentioned it. It's steady enough to keep me out at least five nights a week. I'm sure it'll get worse with warmer weather. City folk get stir crazy."

Hell yeah it is. "We just keep the place from gettin' wrecked, it's ordinary folks who make it somewhere t'live," he declares, punctuating that statement with another drink.

"Is the work load what brought you to Nexus?"

"I passed out in a dumpster once. That was sober." Just rookie vigilante things.

"You know, we should start a bingo card or something. One square is falling in a dumpster. One square is falling through a window...but maybe that should be a free space."

"Though I don't know what the prize would be."
Lucky hasn't been forgotten. Matt "drops" another piece. Whoops.

Matt is fast becoming one of Lucky's favorite people--every drop is manna from heaven (and all dogs, as you know, go to heaven).
