made waves with some friends I know

Matt Murdock is actually dressed for the beach. Still likely more than usual. He burns so easily. There's no way he could have done this alone. Anyone who is anyone in Nexus knows that there is that distinct Verity Willis touch on everything. If the sounds and the sights don't get you, it is going to be whatever Clint has on the grill. That man is magic.

"But if I was looking for a door, I would go to him..."

"He asked me for some of my hair, one time."

"Anything else you need on your meat, Faris?"

But until the mystery man shows his face, Faris can keep right on thinking Ver's hair is of a trivial nature. That tells her a lot about him--for all he might be magic, he can't sense it.
Good.

"This is Faris, I just recently met him a little while back."
"And I am doing well. Thank you for asking."

The K'da quickly sinks back into full tattoo form at the approach of a stranger, since his new friends apparently think he shouldn't draw attention. The point seems to be moot though, because Schön has already commented on his presence. "Greetings," he says politely.

There's worse right words than summoning her devil.
"Don't work too much, this is supposed to be a party," she reminds him.

"Faris," he greets the not-quite-tattoo, lifting his hat genially, "I am quite pleased to meet you." Hunter's answer is met with a smile and, "good, good."
"I remember the mantra of the cookout, Verity, never fear: pleasure before business."

The K'da tries not to be too distracted by the delicious smell coming from the plate, not while there are introductory pleasantries to conduct. But it does smell really good. To him, anyway.

So long as the boys are all playing nice she'll give them some space. She's not wanted or needed for the negotiations and there's bound to be something she needs to be doing just out of earshot. "Don't forget you're on my team for volleyball, Hunter. I'm calling dibs."

Faris' detachment from Hunter is a process worth watching, and it has the thin man's full attention while it happens. "Well. Fluid grace, indeed. I've not yet dined, no," he answers, turning to Hunter's question with some fluidity of his own, "but I was about to. That is an... intriguing preparation you're making."
Volleyball? Schön may need to angle to be referee when the time comes, if there isn't one already.

"Well Faris has an unique diet. Last time he wanted caramel sauce and motor oil on his meat. This time... sunscreen."
"But I can fix one up for you, without any special ingredients." Hunter smiles.
