A statue indistinct in the corner starts to shudder and crack. With a thunderous but crackly roar, an old monster-like creature with a scar on his left eye, sharp ears, even sharper fangs and bat wings holding on to curved blade emerges from his stone casing.

As he stretches, he looks around and asks the question: "Where am I? What sorcery is this?!!"

One of the portals open seemingly on its own, without any new visitor, or at least it seems that way until somebody looks down at the crown of blue hair moving at barely five feet of height, wandering and looking around with a drink far too rainbow-colored to be allowed outside of karaoke bars.

"This is not Comiket..."

Deciding to attribute this visage to the booze, she wanders around the forum, listening, and getting a gist of things. Believing to be (understandably) drunker than she actually was, she interrupts whoever had the intention of asking first.

"Hello, everyone! I am Konata Izumi. Let's say you become a superhero and intend on fighting crime in a flashy outfit, like many of you guys." She raises her drink even higher than herself. "What would your heroic speech be? Go on! Time counts and you must thrill your audience!"

((OOC: Konata will only fourth wall characters with their respective muns' permission, so if you're cool with her recognizing/fourthwalling your character, mention it below!))

[Nexus visitors come in all shapes and sizes, but today one might find a 6' 7" feline-looking creature wandering around the forums. The Pokemon has been exploring the vast Nexus for quite a while now, fascinated and somewhat confused by the environment. Yes, he's read the brochure and knows where he's at, but it's taken him a while to actually come up with a good question (or to get over his hesitation to talk with humans) Visitors of the Nexus might hear him speaking, but only as a subtle thought in their minds via telepathy.]

This place, the Nexus, it seems to hold many possibilities and endless avenues of exploration. Tell me....If you could go anywhere, what place would you choose to visit? And what kind of things would you do there?

[He pauses, then adds one last question. Observant folks might see a trend with the Pokemon's line of questioning.]

What is the best way to travel without being seen or spotted?

((OOC Notes: Mewtwo does speak with telepathy, so if you have a character who's sensitive to psychic powers, be advised and please let me know. Mewtwo will not read a person's mind unless permission is granted, but Mewtwo can sense small bits of power from people.))

The latest portal comes in a mouldering shade of green and a tortured shriek of mangled space. Before disappearing hastily it spits out a warrior in futuristic plate armour that’s badly soiled from recent use. Her boots hit the ground with a shuddering thump, ungraceful but solid. Even with the faceless helm, there’s something distinctly hopeful in the way she looks up and around-

And immediately the pulse rifle in her hands is lowered. Traveler, it’s full of civilians.

Oh, and also atmosphere.

“What’n the Light-? Ghost?” A moment of presumably staring agape, before she shrugs and slowly puts the rifle away. Doing so is the cue for a palm-sized floating machine to materialise beside her, its single blue optic flashing this way and that. It’s quick to prompt its Guardian toward the brochures. She leafs through one swiftly with the occasional 'huh', glancing up at the forum, the sign, then the little Ghost hovering over her shoulder.

“This I’ve gotta try,” she tells it with cheerful incredulity. “Let's see... Hey, Nexus-dwellers! When’s the last time you did something on impulse? How did that work out for you?”

OOC! Modly queries, the direction of the community, and stuff.

So! Things.

First, welcome to all our lovely newcomers! I do hope you'll enjoy it here, and that we can all have a lot of fun.

Second, it's been suggested we might want to start an OOC community for hanging out, plotting, and discussing things. Yay or nay?
So we went and did it: nexus_sages_ooc because I am super creative like that.

Third, would you be interested in our moving away from being strictly an advice group, to allow for a wider variety of RP situations?

Fourth, we have some new tags, so I'm gonna show them off. I think they're pretty straight-forward. If there are other tags you'd like to use, please request them.

Fifth, any questions for us?

Surprise extra sixth item! We've added a new rule:

15. Please be mindful of the IC =/= OOC Barrier at all times. A character reacting negatively to yours does not mean their mun/player is reacting negatively to you as their player. If you feel any animosity, please contact that player in a PM or the Mods who will happily act as mediator to clear things up. Sages is a place for us all to have fun and enjoy playing off each other. Thus we will not tolerate any OOC wank, harrasment, stalking, or other such disturbing behaviours. We like to keep our banhammers hung on the wall, but we aren't afraid to bring them down if needed. Play nice, please.
