Welcome one yellowish giant robot to the Nexus. "... I had a business to run you mooks!" Because some must have brought him here against his, will.

Someone doesn't look to happy to be here. He has a business in a junkyard somewhere on Earth to be tending to, and a few potential dimwitted customers to sell knock off electronics to. And there he stands with a cross look on his face as he taps his foot on the ground.

There is no point in wasting his time with asking the obvious question. So he's going to ask something else instead. "I wonder if I could help you find something?" The universe is full of suckers, and Swindle might do his best to make the best of this place wherever this place might be. "Because if I can get back to my stuff at home, I might be able to make a damn good deal."

Deals. That is just how this hoodlum rolls.

If one were to pass by the residential district, they may pass by a small Art Nouveau house being inspected by Dix and Tiz.. From the conversation that can be audible, it sounds like Dix is trying to tell Tiz the merits of having a house in the Nexus until they go back to Luxendarc, among other things. Tiz starts out unsure of the idea, but as she explains the practicalities further, he seems to be agreeing with the idea.

When the duo comes out of the house, there's a small grin on their face.

"So!" Dix's soprano voice echoed as she spoke. "Tiz and I are interested in inhabiting this cozy place- until we go back to Luxendarc, and neither of us know when that will happen. I've just got a simple question- does this place use real estate or something like it, or it's just a first come, first serve kinda thing?"

Verity has found a seat in the forum and is curled up there, reading over some paperwork that shows signs of having been read several times already. It may not last for many more, the way she's handling it: it's been rolled up, folded, dog-eared, and a couple corners are missing.

"Is there a good way to relocate? Between realities? I mean, how do you deal with the paperwork?" Because there's bound to be a lot of paperwork for that sort of thing. "This place is amazing, and I'm sure lots of people have decided to move."

She puts the paperwork down, rubbing the back of her neck before asking the more difficult part.

"It's good to stay out of the way when something's happening that you can't help with, right? It's not cowardice to find somewhere safe. Right?" Someone is trying too hard to justify things to herself.

((A note before you come to play with Verity: she's got an as-yet unexplained ability to always know when someone is lying to her. Please respect this; if your character is trying to lie to her, please make that known so she can react appropriately. [I completely understand this isn't going to be everyone's idea of fun.] Thanks.))

Oh, hey, this person looks familiar. They're clutching a brochure, looking over it, talking to himself.

...Actually, talking to himself is a little too accurate, as two voices are coming out of his mouth. One is familiar- the echo-y soprano that is Dix. The other one seems to be the young man's actual voice, a gentle tenor filled with melancholy.

"I don't understand, Dix. You came here and somehow I was knocked out?" he asked out loud.

His mouth twisted into a grin. "I thought the Nexus would keep you asleep," Dix pointed out. "So when I heard you wake up, I knew I had to show you this place! ...Because I have no clue when we'll go back home like nothing happened."

The young man's eyes widen. "You know about this place?!"

"I've heard of a place like this before. But since you're out, why not ask a question to the people here?"

"A question..." Tiz Arrior looked down to his feet, then looked up again. "...Nexus, what's your favorite comfort food? I could go for something like that right now..."

[Anybody who thinks that bunnygirls are all sexpots would probably be disappointed to see the bunny girl currently kicking back on one of the sitting cushions. She seems to be constantly eating dango -- little glutenous rice balls on a skewer -- and the slight pudge around her waistline indicates the effect this has had on her physique. She seems pretty laid back too, for being in an interdimensional Nexus.]

Hmm. *munch munch* Interdimensional nexus that one can enter through unintentional or illogical means. Guess I'd better get more info on the place. Seems like the sort of thing the gap youkai woman who tried to invade the moon would come up with to get the jump on us. Or it's a coincidence. Eh.

[She finishes one skewer, and starts on another.]

So I guess I'm supposed to ask a question too? That's the most effective way of gathering info anyway. Let's see...

[She mulls, tapping the skewer against her cheek for a bit, before nodding.]

Right, I got one. So say you have a cushy job. Laid back, not too much abuse. And your job's supposed to be helping set up for a major invasion of a place. I know, I know, but it's the bosses' decision, not mine. Except say you decide that, after gathering info for a long time, you kinda LIKE the place you're supposed to invade, warts and all. You're not disloyal to your commanders, you just kinda don't see the point anymore. In that situation, say you got, uhhh... three, maybe four people going to stop the invasion before it's too late. Now, obviously I'm supposed to fight and stop that sort of thing. But nobody said I had to WIN, right? I'm still doing my job and all; not my fault the attackers are really strong.

[Munch munch.]

So can anybody fault me for that sort of thing? I mean, really. Alternately, anybody know any good snack recipes?

[Nexus visitors come in all shapes and sizes, but today one might find a 6' 7" feline-looking creature wandering around the forums. The Pokemon has been exploring the vast Nexus for quite a while now, fascinated and somewhat confused by the environment. Yes, he's read the brochure and knows where he's at, but it's taken him a while to actually come up with a good question (or to get over his hesitation to talk with humans) Visitors of the Nexus might hear him speaking, but only as a subtle thought in their minds via telepathy.]

This place, the Nexus, it seems to hold many possibilities and endless avenues of exploration. Tell me....If you could go anywhere, what place would you choose to visit? And what kind of things would you do there?

[He pauses, then adds one last question. Observant folks might see a trend with the Pokemon's line of questioning.]

What is the best way to travel without being seen or spotted?

((OOC Notes: Mewtwo does speak with telepathy, so if you have a character who's sensitive to psychic powers, be advised and please let me know. Mewtwo will not read a person's mind unless permission is granted, but Mewtwo can sense small bits of power from people.))

One of the portals open seemingly on its own, without any new visitor, or at least it seems that way until somebody looks down at the crown of blue hair moving at barely five feet of height, wandering and looking around with a drink far too rainbow-colored to be allowed outside of karaoke bars.

"This is not Comiket..."

Deciding to attribute this visage to the booze, she wanders around the forum, listening, and getting a gist of things. Believing to be (understandably) drunker than she actually was, she interrupts whoever had the intention of asking first.

"Hello, everyone! I am Konata Izumi. Let's say you become a superhero and intend on fighting crime in a flashy outfit, like many of you guys." She raises her drink even higher than herself. "What would your heroic speech be? Go on! Time counts and you must thrill your audience!"

((OOC: Konata will only fourth wall characters with their respective muns' permission, so if you're cool with her recognizing/fourthwalling your character, mention it below!))

There is a man in the Nexus. Standing tall, he is cut like a champion athlete or a Greek god. The uniform he wears proclaims him to be proudly American - a star emblazoned across his chest - and the shield that hangs on his back should leave no doubt as to who he is. He pores meticulously over one of the brochures, brows furrowed as he reads the strange information it provides. Having finished it, he shakes his head in disbelief before sliding it into a pocket and looking up to pay more attention to his surroundings.

"First a robot tries to take over the world and now this," he mumbles to himself. Passing a hand across his eyes he lets out a quiet sigh before straightening his shoulders and turning to the the Nexus at large. The instructions are to ask a question, and he seems to wrestle for a moment with his thoughts. Captain America has no room for doubt, but Steve Rogers? Well, he could use a fresh viewpoint, and if he's lucky this will all be some strange dream and he'll at least wake up with a little clarity.

"Duty entails sacrifice. That's a pretty cut and dried concept. How do you know if you're sacrificing too much? Is there a too much?"

In a flare of purplish light and a brief warping of spacetime, someone appears in the Nexus.

He is not the usual sort of someone, if there is a usual sort of someone here. He stands fairly short, proudly sporting catlike ears and tail, dressed in what can only be described as a very poofy shirt and a pair of rather thick woolen tights. He also looks terribly cranky, and he's clutching what looks like some sort of mechanical, wind-up doll, which appears to be missing a good chunk of its back and the majority of its internal components.

He also appears to be very quickly realizing that this is not, in fact, where he meant to end up.

"What--" A wild look around brings his eyes to the Sign, and he spits what sounds very like a curse, staggering back and shading his eyes. What a monstrosity. "Thal's balls, what is that - no, on second thought, I don't want to know." Not that he thinks anyone would tell him, but he feels better for having said it, cautiously inching closer and peering at the colorful mess.

He soon looks away, though. Up, in fact. It's as if he is hearing an unseen voice. "A...question? What in the name of the Twelve...?"

...Well, he does have a question, but he's not quite sure he really wants to ask it of anyone.

He does anyway.

"...Can anyone fix this?" Holding up the poor abused doll, which loses a few gears as it's lifted and makes him curse again.

There's a new visitor to the Nexus. She's of middling height, average appearance, and wears a resting face of semi-permanent discontent with the world. She has a brochure. She's seen the sign. She's too upset to be impressed.

Still, there's a promise of advice, and boy does she need some advice.

"Truth is truth, right? It can't be a lie. I mean, I know it can be incomplete, and an incomplete truth can be misleading, but it can't be a lie." She pauses for a raspy breath. "So what do you do when you know something is true but also know it can't possibly be right?"

"Because he wouldn't... but... he did. Does? Will? Time travel sucks. I don't believe the future is immutable, but is even the potential for future bad acts enough? If he could do these things, it's better to cut and run now, right?"

There's a bit of a wait while she wrestles with these ideas and comes to the point. Somebody's feeling very guilty. "Did I just abandon my best friend?"

((A note before you come to play with Verity: she's got an as-yet unexplained ability to always know when someone is lying to her. *There's a woman in the forum, sitting on one of the benches and taking what locally passes for sun. Arrayed on a cloth beside her are a tidy row of delicate-looking tools. Cradled in her palm is something like a fat pocketwatch, its back panel open on the warring fever-dreams of a futurist, a diabolist, and a confectioner. She picks with care at the strange interior, listening with half an ear to the passers-by. At a convenient lull (and when she needs a break), she looks up from her work, pitching her voice to carry.*

Security. We all feel a need for it, to varying degrees, but sometimes it's that need that's the threat. The Hedgehog's Dilemma, it's been called: you can make yourself perfectly secure by hiding behind your defenses, making sure nothing ever reaches you. But do that, and you'll eventually starve--in one way or another. But to get anything other than safety, you have to uncurl, to consciously choose to make yourself vulnerable. So where do you draw the line? And on which side do you prefer to err?

*Setting down her tools and project, she massages a cramp out of her hand while she waits for a response.*

A portal opens, pouring tonnes of seawater across the floor of the Nexus as a young man walks backward into The Forum. He is tall and lithe, messy blue hair pooling around his head like a deeply azure halo. The gills that sit on either side of his neck are easily seen against his skin, and his still-wet torso is bare to the waist where a flowing green cloth covers him down to his calves. By the sinewy muscle that his mode of dress lays bare, it's clear he's an active young man, and the gauntlet on his right forearm and trident he carries both seem to indicate he knows how to handle himself. There's an unmistakable air of the sea about him, yet his bearing is regal, composed.

He seems to be having a conversation with someone, not noticing the change in his surroundings for a moment despite that fact that he's obviously stepped out of a submerged environment into a dry one.

"Bobo, you know what I mea-" The portal in front of him shuts silently, cutting off his view of his own universe as well as the deluge. "What in Neptune's name..."

Turning, his eyes are assaulted by the Sign, and he squints for a moment at the sudden light. "Seriously?"
Grabbing a brochure, he opens it, fighting a losing battle as the thin paper it is printed on quickly turns soggy and falls apart in his wet hands. With a sigh, he shakes the water off his skin and turns to the Nexus at large.

"Alright, what exactly is this place and how did I get here?"
