Trixie's lucky day? (Aka +1 unicorn XD)
That right there sure would be a unicorn with a bright azure blue coat and cornflower blue mane, trotting right out of nowhere into the forum. The thing that she's pulling, looks like a combination of a cart, storefront and small house behind her... It's not a huge wagon by any means, but one gets the feeling that there is more to it than a first glance would have you believe...
Trixie decreased her speed from a canter, to a trot, and finally a full stop as she looked around the area with a puzzled, but also surprised, look on her face. "Hmmm... Well, this is new..." It didn't take her long to spot what she thought had to be the ugliest sign she'd ever seen, and shortly there after, the 'Welcome to the Nexus' brochure. "Nexus?"
Floating the pamphlet over using magic, she started to read it, and looked quite intrigued by the information. "Interesting... I wonder..."
Clearing her throat, she looked around and asked "Could anyone please tell me what the local currency here is?" She paused and considered things a moment. "Also, do I need a permit to sell items here?"
Well, why not? It's not like she had any urgent business anywhere, any chance to for her to gain knowledge, new items and perhaps sell some of her wares, it would be stupidity of the highest order to let an opportunity like this pass her by.

If you're familiar with My Little Pony at all, just be aware that this Trixie is sort of a mirror AU. She tries to be as honest with others as she can be, but often downplays her own accomplishments. I'll do my best to try and remember to point out when she's downplaying her accomplishments and such. Almost her entire journal is an info dump on her... so uh, feel free to poke me on pm if you need something explained or clarified, because tldr mode hits me hard sometimes.))

"Currency is whatever you're willing to accept." The answer comes from a pink-haired woman watching from nearby. It comes at a slight delay, because the 616 had a lot of weird shit, but talking ponies... not so much. Also not unicorns, those got hunted to extinction. (Asgardians are not great environmental stewards.)
"There's not much of a government here, so permits aren't really an issue. You uh... need a hand with that?"
no subject
"So barter then?" She smiles "That I can work with. It's so much easier when I don't need to worry about trying to exchange things." The whole cluster buck that was her trip to the Gryphon lands... that she was in no hurry to repeat.
"I suppose if there is no government, there is no one enforcing quality control either?" She sighs and mutters "Must remember to check all transactions twice then..." She didn't want to be taken advantage of, nor did she want to take advantage of someone else.
The offer of a hand had her blink a couple of times. "Hand?... Oh! No, it's quite alright. I'm more than capable of setting things up myself." If anything, she could almost do it in her sleep. "Sorry. I'm not used to dealing with bipedal creatures..." While there were a few around Equestria, Trixie had only encountered them once or twice, and none were humans.
"... Actually, have you been around here long? I would be curious as to where you think might be a good place for me to set up shop for a time..."
no subject
"That is the other side of the issue, yeah. You're on your own when it comes to making sure you're getting what you think you're getting. But what's considered valuable can change drastically, so, I wouldn't worry about comparing prices too much." It's all so subjective. Figuring out who's taking advantage of who can be, well, tricky.
She shrugs a bit at the decline; she's not surprised, but she wanted to be nice. "Oh? Well, there's a lot of us around here. I'm sure you'll get used to it soon. I've been here for the better part of a year. Where you set up depends on a couple things. How long you're planning to stay, and what you're selling. There are markets where you can set up a stall in the commercial district, and shops if you want a permanent place. Or if it's just a day or two usually people don't mind if you set up around the forum here."

okies :) I need a good name for the bakery, any suggestions?
3. 1415926535 ? /ducks thrown pies/ I honestly have no idea.
I would never throw a pie at you. That'd be a waste of good pie!
Fffff!!! It didn't send via e-mail >.< Sorry on the late reply.
I was starting to wonder, but didn't want to bother you.
If it takes me more than about 16 hours to reply, something's likely gone wrong.
I'll keep that in mind.

"The currency is varied and depends on the people involved in the transaction, friend. Barter is often more accepted, but small baubles, gems and coins of good metal, are often accepted as well."
no subject
"Ah, thank you. That makes things so much more convenient for me, since I much prefer to trade when I can." She gives the feline a look over, not intending to be rude, but rather obvious in her curiosity.
"I do apologize for staring..." Trixie quickly realized she was being somewhat rude, but she just had to know. "... Would you mind telling me what your species is? I don't believe I've ever seen your like on Equestria..."
no subject
"Many are surprised to see me. I take no offense," she assures Trixie. "I am Khajiit, from a world called Tamriel. We have none of your kind there either, so this is a delightful discovery for us both, hmm?"
no subject
"My name is Trixie, it is lovely to meet you."
no subject
She gives a bow and a smile with her introduction. "I am Daro'Ravari. Ravari to my friends, which I hope we shall be. I too am a merchant who sometimes sells my wares here, so I must admit, I am most curious as to what you have brought."

((Schön appears human to mortal senses, but there's a bit more going on there, to those with an awareness of magic. I'm not sure how aware of ambient magic Trixie is.))
no subject
"So more or less a barter system then... Thank you, that is good to know."
((I'd say she's very in tune with, and aware of magic around her. She might not know what it is, but she'd be able to notice most magic that hasn't been disguised or was purposefully hidden from detection.
Ie, if there is magic on a coat to keep someone warm, she'd be able to tell that there's magic on it, maybe that it has something to do with temperature, but little else without some study. She creates enchanted items, among other things, so she's had a lot of practice. XD))
no subject
((Schön is a fae soul in a human body, an eminently magical being whose magic relies on passion, creativity, and imagination to exist. Petty banalities are literal poison to him, or would be outside the antiviolence field. His cane is, in actuality, a staff in which he has invested considerable magic as well, and he carries a number of magic items on him at any given time, including a bag of holding sewn into the inside pocket of his suit jacket.))
no subject
The topic of her wares has her ears perking a bit, curious to find out what new things she may find here.
"I sell a wide variety of items, potions and ingredients, along with custom enchanting of items and such. I'll admit, at some point my parents joked I might have been part dragon at my propensity to collect items and books." She pauses "Hmmm... I do believe I'll leave the potions out of my sales until I know if it is safe to share them..."
((Hmmm... She'll likely equate him to Discord or Celestia then. Lots of power, too much for her to try and analyze, but not anything to be too wary of... as long as she doesn't annoy/anger him at least?))
no subject
"Trixie it is, then," he agrees genially, sweeping his hat from his head and hanging it atop his cane, which he leaves standing on its own as he steps toward a more conversational distance. The tip of the cane scrapes quietly against the ground as it follows him, a couple paces distant.
"Ah! A few of my favorite things. I should be very interested indeed to peruse your stock--as well as to ask what you might be looking for in life."

Han himself is not been a nexus resident long, but he knows enough to know how some of this goes. Beings appear. The friendliest types tend to aid people along. He's often late to these kinds of parties and presumes that this majestic creature may have already had her questions answered. No need to be the tenth person to try to talk to her about the shiftable nature of currency around here.
So, instead he asks, "what are you selling, ... miss?" Does he have that right? Captain Solo doesn't always like to be in the position of buyer, but it's a position he's been getting more used to of late. Maybe her cart has parts of Corellian make in there. Who knows.
no subject
Yes, he got it right, but she much prefers to be addressed by name. "My name is Trixie..." She gives him a small curtsy by bobbing her head and bending her front legs a little. "... and once I get myself set up, I will have enchanted items, spell components, and various odds and ends for sale."
Sorry Captain, no ship parts in her cart... at least not the kind he's thinking of. She has a wooden figurehead of a sea pony somewhere however... and a couple of compasses.
"I'm afraid it will be a little while before I can offer to sell or trade anything. Since I wasn't expecting to arrive here, I have to check all the enchantments and spells on my wagon before I can set up..."
no subject
"Han."
He, perhaps, shouldn't be surprised that she deals in magic, lots of people around here do, but it makes him somewhat uncomfortable. Sort of limits the likelihood he'll end up buying anything from her, anyway.
"Fair enough. Where did you come from, if you don't mind me prying?"
no subject
"It's nice to meet you."
She'd not take offense if he didn't buy anything from her, selling things was mostly just a way for her to keep her inventory in check and to allow her to get more things to study. Trixie isn't in it for the money.
"I don't mind the prying provided that you don't mind my questions in return. I come from a place called Equestria."
no subject
He's got his issues. With The Force, where he comes from, and to a wider degree with magic now that he's in the multiverse. Though, not every item she has is going to only be magical and at a certain point, when Captain Solo is desperate ... well, he'll utilize what's available to him.
Though he doesn't have to like it."Answering your questions in return seems only fair." He says with a nod. "What would you like to know?"

C'taqa approaches, careful to keep his demeanor cheerful and non-threatening, his ears perked high and his tail waving gently. "As far as I can tell, it's a sort of barter system...though I'm sure money can be involved. I'm just not certain how."
It's worth noting he's got plenty of foodstuffs to trade if any of Trixie's items should catch his interest. She can likely smell them from within the satchel he carries.
"I don't think you need any sort of permission." Curious peek, yes. "May I see what you have to offer?"
no subject
Trixie was trotting around her cart, checking it for damages and using her magic to hover a book nearby. There's a brilliant red and gold, feather, quill, jotting notes into said hovering book as she works.
She turns her attention to him as he approaches and smiles. People did seem to be helpful and friendly here for the most part. "I suppose barter does make the most sense. It seems that it would be pretty difficult to find a common currency."
The smells from his satchel do very much catch her attention, but it would be quite a time before she would feel confident that her enchantments had held up... Trixie was getting rather hungry at this point however.
"It is good that I won't need a permit or such, but I'm afraid it will be a few days before I can open." She's apologetic and gives him a wry smile. "The joys of magically enhanced spaces. I was not expecting to end up here, and the trip may have caused damages to the enchantments." Getting squished or exploded wasn't in her plans.
She can smell that food though, and she has a moment of inspiration. "Are metals or gems considered valuable here?" Her 'bits', gems and other coins might not be worth anything as currency, but they were made of gold and other pure metals.
no subject
C'taqa nods, understanding. "If you need any help, I'd be glad to." For what it's worth, he's magical himself, and quite powerful. Trixie can probably sense a warmth that radiates from him, a kind and gentle sort of power befitting a healer. "Ending up here doesn't seem to be in much of anyone's plans, to be fair."
He'll nod to her question. "I think they would be. I've traded gold currency from my own world in return for goods, at least - it wasn't so much the 'currency' part as the 'gold' part that made it work."
no subject
At the mention of some places or people accepting gold, her ears perk and the quill that had been writing in the book stopped. "They take gold here in some places? Would you mind directing me to a few of them?"
Her stomach was complaining about the lack of food, and she'd been debating finding a park to go graze in. It wasn't the best or most healthy option, but it wasn't the worst idea either.
no subject
Of course, sharp kitty ears catch the sound of Trixie's stomach grumbling. "Are you hungry? Ah...what do you like to eat?" Odds are he has something.
